Creating Löyly (Steam): The purpose of the Oravakauha is to gently create steam, not to throw or strike it. Especially in smoke saunas, water should be poured slowly onto the heater to find the steam deep within the stones. By applying this method in other saunas as well, you can create gentle, humid, and lingering löyly - Orava löyly.

Gentleness: By creating löyly slowly, you avoid the harsh, burning sensation of so-called "whip steam."

Humidity: Using the Oravakauha, you can add moisture to even the driest sauna by slowly creating löyly. This is especially significant in dry, electric-heated saunas.

Lingering Effect: Slow löyly creation also allows the temperature to rise gradually and pleasantly, creating a lingering warmth.

Replaceable Bottoms: The most significant difference between the Oravakauha and traditional sauna ladles is the ability to easily and quickly change the ladle's bottom according to the mood and the sauna-goer, even after each löyly creation.

The Oravakauha comes with a replaceable bottom featuring six holes.

Additionally, a holeless replaceable bottom is available, allowing it to function like any traditional sauna ladle.

With the one-hole replaceable bottom, you can create löyly with extreme precision, targeting a specific stone or crevice.

The twenty-hole replaceable bottom, on the other hand, provides more robust and quicker löyly but can also be used for rain-like cooling for yourself or your sauna companions, and even as a shower in saunas without other shower facilities.
